10 Rhode Island Seafood Shacks Every Rhode Islander Knows For Their Signature Dish
10+ hour, 19+ min ago (1133+ words) Rhode Island taught me that some of the clearest food memories come in paper boats and waxed cups. I've stood on gravel lots with salt on my hands, watching locals point to a shack and name the one thing you have to order there, no discussion needed. I've split clam cakes that let out a breath of steam, tasted chowders that start quiet debates about color before the spoon even hits the bowl, and held lobster rolls heavy enough to make the table go silent. These places don't need big menus to explain themselves. They live inside single dishes people remember years later. Dom Amore: How Brady Olson led CCSU football back to the postseason, and a rematch at Rhode Island
23+ hour, 24+ min ago (842+ words) Central Connecticut was agonizingly close to staying alive in the FCS playoffs, four yards from tying the game at Rhode Island. "I left a lot on the field that I felt I wanted to get back," Olson said. "I wanted to give this program a little more than what I gave last year, that was one of my main goals in coming back, to excel more, develop more and be a really good quarterback here." After the season,…...
Rhode Island woman detained at Logan Airport earlier this month to remain in custody after bond hearing - The Boston Globe
23+ hour, 49+ min ago (474+ words) A Rhode Island woman detained at Logan International Airport three weeks ago will remain in federal custody for the time being after a bond hearing in immigration court was postponed on Wednesday. Eva Helena Mendes, a Green Card holder from Woonsocket, appeared virtually before a judge in Chelmsford Immigration Court on Wednesday. She has been in federal custody since Nov. 5, when she was stopped by US Customs and Border Protection agents at Logan Airport as she returned to the country from Cape Verde. Mendes was initially told that she would be held overnight while customs agents looked into a decade-old warrant, according to her attorney. But she was ultimately held for nearly two weeks at Logan Airport before being transferred to a facility in Maine, according to federal court records. Mendes has held legal permanent resident status since immigrating to…...
